Outside In continues my exploration of repetition, material tension, and perception. Using shredded paper documents coated in charcoal, this large-scale wall installation treats the surface not only as a support but as a site of quiet disruption. The elliptical form, recurring in my work, becomes a metaphor for the cyclical nature of life—continuous, imperfect, and returning. The drawn lines evoke time itself: stretched, fragmented, momentary. As the lines fall, cast shadows shift with the light, allowing the work to oscillate between form and disappearance, surface and space. The use of stainless steel pins fixes this flux in place, offering a rigid framework that contrasts with the paper’s delicacy.
